Kinetic Rain at Changi Airport Singapore

Changi Airport is one of the top airports in the world. Whether is it the service wise, facilities or the general experience at the airport, it ranks one of the highest in the world. Adding to its highly regarded reputation of being a world class airport is a work of art called Kinetic Rain. Kinetic rain consists of 608 rain droplets that are made out of lightweight aluminum. They are suspended by the use of thin steel ropes that are all connected to a motor that is hidden in the ceilings above. From there, the rain droplets can move and form different shapes and structures that are simply gorgeous to watch. Be prepared to stop and stare. Continue reading

Cheap eBay Wireless Antenna Upgrade

Being restricted to solely using wireless for my internet connection, I’ve been spending much time finding ways to improve my wireless connection and speed. I’ve tried many configurations, placing routers here and there and wherever I had cables running to. After a few days of testing, I’ve gotten the most optimum position for the placement of my wireless router and configuration. Not wanting to spend too much money, I decided against upgrading my wireless router but instead searched for other cheaper improvements that I can try out. I guess the real issue here is to identify whether that particular thing needs to be worked on rather than me wanting to work on it.

Of course it is going to be difficult the justify what falls into a “want” and what is a “need”. Continue reading

Audio Recording Upgrade: Blue Yeti Microphone

I’ve been making videos for quite some time already. For all my audio recordings so far, I’ve been relying on the microphone on either the video camera or on my headset. Neither of them are good solutions for recording but I had to make do with what I have. Having endured the poor audio recording quality for months, I’ve decided to spend some money to buy a better microphone. With careful considerations and in-depth research, I’ve narrowed down my options to 2 USB microphones. They are the Audio-Technica AT2020 and the Blue Yeti microphones. The title of the article should tell you what I eventually ended up with. Continue reading
