SharkSpace Webhosting Review

I’ve recently (around 2 weeks ago) shifted host. The main reason for doing so is due to the poor uptime of my previous host. That was not all, the loading time of the server is totally horrendous. I’ve tried optimizing to the best of my ability but the time taken to simply get a response from the server itself is way too long. That plus the free time I had since my examinations were finally over, resulted in the shift to a new host.

I search long and hard, looking for a host that is affordable and reliable. No point paying a dollar a month and then the server shuts down after a month. Reading forums and other people’s reviews, I decided to give SharkSpace webhosting a try. SharkSpace started in the year 2004, so I guess they do have some experience in this field. Their pricing is fantastically reasonable as well. To add on, they have an ongoing 50% off life discount that is currently available for certain plans. I’ll review the host based on first impression, my experience so far with their support and of course whether the server is performing for the price or the promises they made. Continue reading

TorchLight Review

Torchlight Title LogoToday, I present to you a review of TorchLight. Not the physical object that helps shine light in dark places, but a game named somewhat after it. TorchLight is a action role-playing game, similar to that of perhaps diablo and FATE. The designers and developers of the game are part of those two games I mentioned, therefore they are extremely similar in terms of game concept and design. The brief outline of the game is basically you choosing a character, taking some quests, go into dungeons, kill the monsters, come back out, finish the quest, repeat. Sounds boringly repetitive? Nah, it is totally addictive. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Continue reading

How not to sell a Wii

Wii Safety Instructions
The safety precautions diagrams and instructions that are present everywhere in the wii box, manual etc should be followed whether you are a developer, a gamer or even a sales person. This video shows the dangers of not strapping on your wii accessories to your hand. Okay, this ain’t new since such cases are already widely known for quite some time already. However, this is definitely worth a watch. The sales person is on Live television and his job then was to sell the wii. Haha, what a way to smash a lcd screen on live telecast. Now, I hope people who watched will learn from his mistake and not repeat it. Besides, those people who just bought a new set have no excuses for not strapping.

iPhone Guess The News Game Review

Guess the News LogoGuess the News is an iPhone word game that is both educational and fun at the same time. It is something like the game show wheel of fortune where you have to guess the letters to a particular sentence or phrase. Guess the News follows that concept but with a delightful twist. These news relates to the real ongoing world of course and as you play here the game and guess the title, you can choose to read the article if the headline title appeals to you. Continue reading

PC Fifa 10 Review

FIFA 10 Cover ArtNOTE: The version I’m reviewing is the PC version. The score and comments given is solely for the PC version and have nothing to do with the portable mobile versions nor the console versions.

I still can remember myself reviewing Fifa 09 for the pc last year. I had a hard time controlling my emotions and not let them affect my review too much. Two years ago, they promised the Be A Pro mode for Fifa 09 but failed to deliver. This year, they didn’t promise to do anything and they were successful in doing so. Fifa 10 = Fifa 09. Yes fanboys, that is the sad truth. This year’s version is simply Fifa 09 with the squad updates. Even so, many of the last few transfers of the season isn’t even implemented in the game. Absolutely horrible and terrible. Continue reading

iPhone Block Drop Puzzle Game Review

Here I have yet another puzzle game to present to you. This time, this puzzle game is a port of a flash game. The game is again simple, yet challenging. Simple in the sense that the graphics it presents, the concept behind the whole game is straightforward and uncomplicated. The puzzles, however, are all challenging and pose a difficulty to many. To complete all stages require not only high intellectual powers but also high patience. Sometimes you got to think a little more to get the answers in a test right? Continue reading

WordPress for iPhone/iPodTouch

Many months ago an online friend of mine (Swift) requested my help in enriching his website with more content. After some initial rejection, I eventually took up the offer & began writing some tutorials but my interest died fast due to 2 main reasons:

  • As a poor soul serving my 2 years NS liability I do not want to burn my precious weekends writing content for the public.
  • I’m just a procastinator who fails at life.

But—this little application gave me a little hope. With WordPress for iPhone, I could write some blog posts on my iPodTouch during my free time in bunk & with the application’s website announcing the application will be moving towards iPhone OS 3.0, I figured it will be a good time to review this application & hope future versions of it contains what I wished for. As an application built for a mobile device, it spots an uncluttered interface with a design aimed at people making short posts in my opinion. I will focus on mainly 2 functions of writing a blog post, entering text & adding pictures. Continue reading
