I’ve recently went on a school trip to Beijing China in December. While most days were spent visiting companies and attending presentations and business sharings, I had my fair share of free time especially during the few days I extended after all the school stuff were over. If you know China, you know about the great firewall that blocks the great Google from being used. Yes, you can bypass it but in China, Google isn’t all that useful, especially when compared to other services like Baidu, the Chinese’s Google.

My First Cooked Lunch
I finally did it! My first ever cooked meal. I have always wanted to learn cooking but never had the push to actually start trying out. My motivation finally came and I am really happy with the result. Cooking sure is fun but the washing is one tedious and annoying step.
Not Knowing What to Do
In life, there are people that you want happy. It just feels terrible not knowing how to make one of these people be happy. It feels even worse when you know they are sad and you are lost for the actions you need to take to make them feel better. Continue reading
The Final Week
One more week and it’ll be wrap for my final year project. At least I’ll be done with the academic part of things. Bringing it further will require much more planning and discussion.

Halfway There
Just completed my “final year†project midterm presentation. Another few more weeks and it will be over. I’ll get to move on to other stuff.
“It has been a tough but great learning journeyâ€.

Internship Ends and Academic Year Starts
For the past 4 months I’ve been interning at a bank doing some DevOps work. I think I’ve come a long way from that horrid first two weeks of being lost and feeling terrible. I was totally unprepared for the job and tasks that were handed to me. I mean I guess it is not totally my fault considering how the internship description required me to have HTML5, CSS and Javascript skills (I know right, not exactly your DevOps languages).
Two Months Internship
I’m two months in-the-ship (internship ya? no? come on play along will ya?). Slowly starting to wrap up what I’ve started and preparing for some handover of the things that I have been doing and have done. Seems that it will be more or less a proof of concept (used internally within the team but not the organization) and nothing more. Still pretty good I guess, learned quite a bit of stuff that I would never actually spend much of my own time to look into.
