Just saw the local telecast of the latest episode of American Idol Season 9 and found the very ending to be interesting and worthy to be shared.
I shall quote what Simon Cowell said, “I’ve got a horrible feeling that this song (Pants on the Ground) could be a hit” and guess what, youtube helps to spread the word.
Pants on the ground pants on the ground, read on with your pants on the ground.
Kind of reminds me of the fame that William Hung had after he auditioned with “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin. Maybe the same thing might happen with Larry Platt, the man behind “Pants on the Ground”.
Pants on the ground, Pants on the ground
Lookin like a fool with your pants on the ground
With the gold in your mouth Hat turned sideways Pant hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat looking like a fool
walking down town with your pants on the ground GIVE IT UP
Give it up to Larry Platt, your next American Idol! Well maybe not, but maybe he’ll be as famous as William Hung after he auditioned.
P.S The lyrics do have meaning to it. If I interpret it correctly, it is directed to the peoplewho think they’re really cool wearing their jeans as low as their thighs and wearing their cap sideways (bad kids? Gangstars?). So what I guess he is trying to say is that it ain’t cool doing that, instead you look like a total fool. Correct me if I’m wrong but I got a feeling it goes along those lines.
